The accounting year of all councils starts on 1st April and finishes on 31st March. Local councils levy an annual precept charge, which is collected by the District Council. The precept helps run the services provided by the Parish Council.
The Parish Council has few other sources of income, although it receives some money from recycling and the allotments. The receipts from the allotments cover the costs of the provision of the service
The Accounts and Audit Regulation 2015, The Smaller Authorities (Transparency Requirements) (England) Regulations 2015 and the Transparency Code for Smaller Authorities require us to publish certain details in connection with our accounts. Those for Baconsthorpe Parish Council for 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2020-21 are published below.
Note that for the Accounts 2019-20, Statutory Instrument 2020/404 removes the requirement for a common period for the exercise of public rights and extends the deadline by which the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) together with any certificate or opinion issued by the local auditor must be published from 30 September 2020 to 30 November 2020.
